Europa: The Potato Seed Production in Europe Will be Sufficient for the 2025 Season
With an increase in area and good tuberization, the amount of potato seed produced in Europe for the 2025 season will be adequate, according to the latest IFA report.
The potato crop in the U.K. is commonly characterized as ‘average,’ and many people think that the season’s conclusion will rely on how well the harvest goes and how much demand there is.
“Quality issues this week have been dominated by high levels of bruising, but some high waste deductions include greening,” the IFA potato experts added.
Ireland’s potato consumption is said to be constant due to strong demand.
“Growers continue to lift crops as they are fit. There are continued reports that yields will be reduced on later planted crops. With colder temperatures forecast for night this week, later planted crops will struggle to bulk up,” the IFA representatives concluded.
