After the welcome greeting, a presentation was given by Alfredo Kido, a specialist from SAG, who referred to the current regulations for the production of certified seeds.

Subsequently, Dr. Manuel Muñoz, director and genetic improver of INIA Remehue, presented the advances in the development of potato varieties of the Genetic Improvement Program (PMG) of INIA, highlighting the importance of research and the effort dedicated to innovation in this crop.

The day continued with a presentation by Dr. Sandra Alva from INIA La Pampa, who shared the significant progress made in the Potato Germplasm Bank, highlighting the role of conservation and genetic diversity of this tuber.

Finally, the attendees had the opportunity to take a field tour, where Dr. Muñoz presented the characteristics of the main potato varieties developed by INIA available to producers, offering a practical view of the research results.
