Peru: US main destination for frozen yellow potatoes
In the first few months of 2017, frozen yellow potato exports have had a somewhat slower pace than in the same period of last year.
According to the Agrodata Peru website, between January and April of this year, Peru exported 51,121 kilos of this product for an FOB value of US $ 133,077. In the same period last year, the country exported 69.158 kilos of this product for US$171,854.
According to the same source, the United States was the main buyer of this product, as it accounted for 77% of the shipments. It was followed by Chile (18%), Canada (2%), and Spain (2%).
The main exporter of frozen yellow potato was Hanalei SAC, which was responsible for 31% of total sales. It was followed by Importadora y Exportadora Doña Isabel (19%), RQ Frutos y Delicias del Peru EIRL (17%), Miranda-Langa Agro Export SAC (13%), Fusion Foods SAC (8%), Asap Foods SAC (3%), The Green Farmer SAC (2%) and other companies that account for 8%.
