Peru (Junín): Snowfall impacts potato crops and other crops in the province of Yauli
Heavy snowfall in the province of Yauli caused severe damage to crops of potatoes, beans, grain barley, fodder barley, wheat and quinoa, according to the Regional Directorate of Agriculture of Junín.
The most affected districts include Santa Rosa de Sacco, Huayhuay, Chacapalpa and Paccha, as well as the sectors of Huaynacancha and Huari.
In the face of this emergency, technicians from the Yauli Agrarian Agency are assessing the damage in the fields to report the losses to the insurer and activate the Catastrophic Agricultural Insurance. In addition, support measures are being coordinated for the affected farmers.
