Mexico: Potato harvest in southern Sonora to begin in April
To monitor progress in potato development, monitoring and preparation work for harvesting in the Yaqui Valley is ongoing, which has shown that progress is being made according to schedule.
One of the points reviewed was in Block 1712, in sections A, B, C and D, which are under the drip irrigation system of the fiana variety, which has good size and quality according to the producers. In this property, the harvest is scheduled to start in April, so maintaining the samplings is key to determining the quality and yield of the crop. Likewise, in Block 1209, analyzes were carried out in the front area, specifically in hydrants 1, 2 and 3, with the aim of monitoring the condition of the soil and the hydration of the plant. Farmers in the Yaqui Valley continue to implement efficient water management and crop monitoring techniques to ensure optimal production in the next harvest.
