Peru: Government promotes potato industrialization
A draft of the law’s regulations will be circulated for 15 days to receive comments, contributions, opinions, and suggestions.
The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri) ordered the publication of the draft supreme decree that approves the regulations of the Law that promotes the industrialization of potato cultivation (Law No. 31920), as well as its statement of reasons.
Ministerial Resolution No. 0477-2025-MIDAGRI , published today in the official newspaper El Peruano, indicates that the aforementioned draft regulation and its statement of reasons will be disseminated on the digital headquarters of Midagri ( www.midagri.gob.pe ) .
The publication will be open for 15 calendar days to receive comments, contributions, opinions and suggestions from public entities, private institutions and citizens in general, as appropriate.
The regulation indicates that the General Directorate of Agricultural Development and Agroecology is responsible for receiving, consolidating, systematizing and analyzing the comments, contributions, opinions and suggestions regarding the regulatory project .
All of this will be received via email: mquevedo@midagri.gob.pe; or through mesadepartesdigital.midagri.gob.pe, or the Citizen Service and Document Management Office, located at Jirón Cahuide N° 805, Jesús María district, Lima province and department, in order to prepare the final proposal of the aforementioned regulatory project.
The preamble to the legal instrument notes that Midagri exercises competence in matters of agriculture, livestock, forest resources and their sustainable use, wild flora and fauna, health, safety, research, extension, technology transfer and other services related to agricultural activity, water resources, irrigation infrastructure and the use of water for agricultural purposes.
The General Directorate of Agricultural Development and Agroecology is the line agency responsible for promoting the sustainable productive and commercial development of agricultural products, their access to the national and international market, as well as promoting the supply of agricultural products at the national level with added value, competitive and sustainable, including productive reconversion and the sustainability of agricultural production systems.
The Law that promotes the industrialization of potato cultivation aims to promote and encourage the agro-industrial activity of potato production in order to stimulate the supply of various products derived from it for different markets, as well as promote its export, thus generating greater profitability for potato producers .Fuente: andina.pe
