Canadá: Potato planting held up due to sloppy fields
Potato planting season in P.E.I. has been pushed back by about two weeks due to the record-setting snowfall this winter and spring.

Many fields are still too wet with lingering snow, preventing farmers from planting.
The late start could mean smaller and fewer potatoes at the end of the season, says Jason Webster, co-owner of MWM Farms in Kinkora
"A late start to the season can cause a bit of a yield depression on some crops, especially some varieties that need longer to bulk up," said Webster.
"But if Mother Nature is good to us for the summer and gives us some good rains, we can still end up with a reasonable average yield. So that’s what we’ll be hoping for."
Webster says he hopes to start planting his spuds by the end of this week, if the weather co-operates.
