Perú: Peruvian native potato vodka awarded sixth international gold medal
The first Peruvian vodka made from Andean native potatoes was awarded its sixth international gold medal at the 2021 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, one of the most important competitions in the United States, the State-run Innovate Peru

It says that Vodka 14 Inkas obtained this distinction for the third consecutive year – a celebration of the intensive research and development work done to achieve a high-quality product that meets international standards.
Innovate Peru says the Peruvian vodka project was the winner of the fourth generation at the StartUp Peru contest (2016) and the Bio Challenge (2018).
Vodka 14 Inkas was born with the purpose of giving value to the Inca country’s biodiversity, rewarding the guardians of this legacy, presenting a unique beverage, produced in small batches with its own technology and state-of-the-art equipment to ensure the highest international quality.
“We are very proud to have represented Peru versus other world-class recognized brands, and to obtain an exceptional score awarded by the rigorous and demanding judges of this contest,” said Omar Cosio, CEO of Destilería Espíritu Andino SAC, the company that produces Vodka 14 Inkas.
He dedicated this award to the Pazos district community in Huancavelica and to all native potato farmers in Peru.
