Europa: AVR adds front potato cultivator to tillage line-up
A 3m Multiforce front-mounted cultivator has joined AVR’s soil preparation range for potato crops, replacing the outgoing Multivator models.

The 4x75cm unit will till soil in front of a rear-mounted potato planter and features a 750mm rotor – 150mm larger than before.
It is able to work deeper, with depth set manually via a pair of wheels and the chevron-style roller.

As standard, the rotor is fitted with 128 hook tines and a gearbox that is rated to 250hp, which offers speeds of 248, 295 or 352rpm.

However, buyers can opt for a 192-tine system that AVR says can reduce power demand by 33%, allow for a quicker forward speed and improve soil crumbling.
This version doesn’t require a gearbox as minor tweaks to rotor speed can be made through the pto.

The Multiforce has a spring-loaded hood that allows it to move continuously and prevent it getting caked in tacky soil, it weighs 1,900kg and takes a minimum of 120hp to run.
It is being shown at events this year, with delivery likely to be in 2022.
