In a press statement, the Minister highlighted the importance of "the development of the food industry through the signing of partnerships on the part of growers to ensure the marketing of their products, thereby helping to increase their capacity, modernising the production and ensuring diversification of the national economy." He also called for an "optimum use of agricultural and primary resources."Mr Ferroukhi also focused on the need to promote local products in order to reduce dependence on imports and achieve greater food security. With regard to seed potatoes, Mr Ferroukhi said his Ministry has a plan to significantly reduce dependency on their import by 2019.
