India: Potato skyrocketed to Rs 14 a kg in city
Bhubaneswar: Potato price skyrocketed to Rs 14 per kilogram on Sunday in Bhubaneswar market, much to the worry of common consumers.

Wholesalers have attributed the sudden potato price rise by Rs 4 to the tricks by West Bengal traders. Retailers had sold the tuber at Rs 10 in the morning on the day.
Notably, Odisha majorly depends on neighbouring West Bengal to meet its potato need. A year ago, potato price had been skyrocketed to Rs 40 a kg during this time as the West Bengal Government put restrictions on traders to export potato to outside the State.
