Tayikistán: Potato production increases in Tajikistan
From January-October this year, farms in Tajikistan have produced 475,000 tons of potatoes, almost 72,000 more than last year.
Potato yields have stood at 23 tons per hectare, 370 kilos more than the same period last year.To date, farmers have been given 20,000 hectares to produce potatoes, but this year farmers were given 21,200 hectares.In 2014, Tajik farmers produced more than 500,000 tons of potatoes and they expect to produce approximately the same amount this year.Source: potatopro.com
