Canadá: Lower yields for Canadian potato harvest
The PEI potato harvest finished a little late this year due to wet weather conditions later in the fall, which affected some farmers in the west of the province.

Greg Donald, manager of the P.E.I. Potato Board, expects yields will be down a bit across the Island this year, mostly because of dry conditions through much of the growing season."Overall there is a few less acres planted on P.E.I. this past year," said Donald. "So that, combined with the growing season that we had, I would expect overall production will be down compared to last year."Donald said on the plus side, drier conditions also meant this was the first year in many that no lab-confirmed cases of late blight were reported.
