Argelia: Algeria to export potatoes to the Gulf by air
The Algerian government has decided to sign contracts for the export by air of potatoes to countries in the Gulf region
Following an increase in the demand for them; the move will make it possible to increase the country’s export volumes and enable a larger number of traders to make shipments overseas.
The government’s decision to boost the export of potatoes towards the Gulf has been described as a new step in the implementation of measures to allow for the surplus of this product to be absorbed and ensure market stability.
In terms of figures, it has been revealed that licenses have been awarded to ten traders for the export of potatoes to the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, which will make it possible to ship about a thousand tonnes in a matter of just three months.
