Kenia: Farmers urge county government to set up potato plant
Following the massive harvest of the potatoes in Kuresoi South, farmers have urged the Nakuru county government to build the potato processing plant so that they can fully benefit from the crop.

The farmers said that they lack storage facilities which force some produce to rot in the farm.
Speaking to this writer in Keringet, Joseph Yator, Chairman of Kuresoi Potato Farmers Association said that potato farmers work hard yet they don’t enjoy the profit of their labour.
"Prices of potatoes have significantly dropped. If the government will build storage facilities, then we will store our crops till the prices shoot then we sell. Farmers are now running at a loss," he said.
The farmers also asked the government to improve the situations of the roads in the region, stating that majority of the farmers cannot access the market.
