Polonia: Poland to share experience with Georgia on handling potato plants
Specialists from Georgia’s Agriculture Ministry will travel to Poland between 18 and 22 July to visit a laboratory in the city of Toruń and learn about methods of laboratory analysis of soil and potato samples for quarantine organisms.

The event is organised by the Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument of the European Commission (TAIEX) in co-operation with the Main Inspectorate of Plant Health and Seed Inspection Service of Poland.
During five days, Georgian experts will learn about the organisation of mycological and phytosanitary diagnostic laboratories in Toruń, and how quality assurance and accreditation of laboratories are managed in Poland. They will also discuss rules of soil and plant sampling, sample handling, as well as the methods of identification of parasites and diseases in potato plants.
TAIEX is a demand-driven tool that supports partner countries with the approximation of national laws, regulations and quality standards to those of EU Member States in the framework of Cooperation or Association agreements signed with the EU. In the Eastern Neighbourhood, TAIEX works with Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. (EU Neighbourhood Info)
