Kazakhstan: To build potato processing plant with 140K ton capacity
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Askar Myrzakhmetov, met with representatives of the Dutch company Farm Frites on January 25 to discuss their plans to build a plant for the production of frozen fried potatoes.
The project plans to build a plant with an annual production capacity of 140 thousand tons of processed potatoes. The amount of investment is being discussed.
Farm Frites was founded in 1971 in the Netherlands as a family business. The production of frozen and chilled products from potatoes is the main activity of the company. The company has 40 sales offices and six factories in 40 countries. The company’s potato processing makes up 1.3 million tons per annum with exports to more than 80 countries.
They discussed issues of bilateral trade and economic relations, as well as the preparation for the third session of the Kazakh-Dutch Business Council to be held in Astana this June.
