Polonia: Considerable drop in potato exports

According to experts of the Institute, in the first quarter of 2015 Polish potato exports amounted to just around 6 thousand tonnes, compared to 12.1 thousand tonnes in the same period last year.At the same time, imports amounted to 27.4 thousand tonnes, compared to 51.1 thousand tonnes in the first quarter of 2014."The drop in exports has been due to the fact that practically the whole of Europe, except Russia, has had a potato surplus, thus limiting potential sales," explain experts of the IAFE.
