Bielorrusia: Belarus will reduce the area under potatoes in 2020
According to the work plan on the website of the Belarussian Ministry of Agriculture for the preparation and conduct of 2020 spring field work, ….
....early spring and grain crops will occupy 779,400 ha this year, including legumes on 350,000 ha, potatoes on 21,700 ha, vegetables - 4,500 ha, and annual herbs on 252,200 ha.
According to the work plan, 1,1 million tons of potato are to be produced, as well as 622,400 tons of vegetables, 170,000 tons of fruits and berries.
In 2019, Belarus, according to Belstat, produced 7,3 million tons in all categories of farms (in weight after refinement), which is 19,2% more than in 2018. Potatoes in farms of all categories in 2019 accumulated 6,1 million tons (an increase of 4,1%).
