Bolivia: Potato processing plant in Sipe Sipe finalizes details for its operation
The resources generated through the marketing of the products will be invested in the sustainability of the plant and to continue supporting potato producers.

A potato processing plant in the municipality of Sipe Sipe, Cochabamba, is finalizing details to launch its products on the market in the next three months.
"We have seen with satisfaction the first steps that this industry is taking. Tests are being carried out so that it can already launch its products on the market this year," said the governor of Cochabamba, Humberto Sánchez.
The company is currently conducting pilot tests on the production of potato flour, pre-frozen French fries and mixed baby food using 90 tons of potatoes.
"With the advice of a private company we have already started. Surely as we move forward we will acquire more experience, more knowledge so that we can go to market in accordance with the standards of Senasag"
The raw material to carry out this project will be provided by potato producers from nine municipalities: Cocapata, Independencia, Morochata, Arque, Bolívar, Tapacarí, Tacopaya, Sipe Sipe and Capinota, who will deliver the potatoes to the Food Processing Plant.
“Llajta Papa” and “Llajta Papilla” are the names with which the products will be marketed in markets, supermarkets, restaurants and distribution chains through strategic alliances with different companies.
This project is implemented within the framework of the Departmental Public Enterprises Law 994.
The resources generated through the marketing of these products will be invested in the sustainability of the plant and to continue supporting potato producers in the department.
