Argentina (Mar del Plata): Lamb Weston has set an opening date for its potato chip factory.
The company, located in the Industrial Park, is entering the final stages of construction. It will explore how one of the world’s largest plants will operate.

Mar del Plata will have one of the largest frozen potato production plants in the world, which is ready to open after more than two years of construction.
This is the Lamb Weston firm, one of the strongest productive ventures in recent years, which made a multi-million-dollar investment in the city.
Sources close to the company confirmed that the company will open its doors on October 6, 2025, with a grand opening event.
The facility’s commissioning will activate the facility, which will be divided into three engineering levels: on one hand, the large module with the plant; on the other, the warehouses for product storage; and finally, a space for a future expansion (which will have a floor plan identical to the first).
According to estimates, the cold storage facility that will store the finished potatoes will be the largest in Argentina, covering almost one hectare.
After meeting the expected deadlines, the company will finally begin full operations, initially generating many jobs in the city. Industry sources estimate that more than 3,000 jobs are expected to be created.
The company plans to have one of the largest plants with production for export.Once completed, the company will export a large amount of products, using Route 88, the Circunvalación Road, and Vértiz as corridors, with the maritime route as the main transportation route. It is expected that between 70% and 75% of the total exported goods will be destined for other countries.
"There will be a lot of traffic, not only with the Port but with the logistics involved in these shipments in general. We estimate that we will have up to 60 trucks per day, including the supply side and the finished product from the plant to suppliers, warehouses, and the port," port sources told this outlet.
