Ukraine: Potato prices continue to fall
According to producers, the main factor behind the price decline is seasonality, with supply increasing daily. At the same time, the quality of the potatoes on offer is often poor, which also puts pressure on prices.

Prices for new-crop potatoes in Ukraine continue to decline. The main reason is improved weather conditions and increased harvests in most regions. This has led to a significant increase in potato supplies on the domestic market, but prices for this vegetable are 23% higher than last year.
According to producers, the main factor behind the price decline is seasonality, with supply increasing daily. At the same time, the quality of the potatoes on offer is often poor, which also puts pressure on prices.
It is worth noting that in the second half of July last year, potato prices were on average 23% lower than their current level. Analysts do not rule out the continuation of this negative price trend due to a further gradual increase in supply on the market.
We remind you that in early June, Ukraine recorded a sharp rise in prices for last year’s harvest potatoes. Prices increased due to reduced market supply and the end of the sales season for expired products. Despite this, demand for potatoes remained high.
