Netherlands: Potato and French fry processor CêlaVíta has gone bankrupt
Potato producer CêlaVíta has gone bankrupt, Omroep Gelderland reports. Employees were informed of the bankruptcy on Tuesday afternoon, August 12th. The company had been struggling financially for some time.
CêlaVïta supplied potato products to various supermarkets, hotels, restaurants, and institutions in Europe. The company recently announced a reorganization, with the intention of focusing more on producing fries.
CêlaVíta’s website states that the company employs approximately 215 people in Wezep. The future of these employees is still uncertain. According to the company, a meeting with the bankruptcy trustee will take place soon to clarify the next steps.
