Argentina: Lamb Weston will ship its first potato export from its brand new production plant in Mar del Plata.

The first container of Lamb Weston’s locally produced potatoes will leave the port of Mar del Plata for Brazil tomorrow.

The official and formal presentation took place last March, with company officials, local officials, and suppliers in attendance, who participated in a tour of the facilities, which required a total estimated outlay of more than $300 million.

The Secretary of Local Development, Investments, and Public-Private Integration, Fernando Muro, was the one who anticipated this development as a major achievement, given the importance of getting this multinational to choose this destination to establish its headquarters and set up a model facility, with the certainty of shipping its products by sea from the Mar del Plata terminal.

"Huge news for Mar del Plata and the region," the official said on social media, recalling that "after six years of management work alongside Mayor Montenegro, promoting the private sector and removing obstacles, tomorrow the first container of Lamb Weston’s local potato production will leave our port for Brazil." "It won’t happen overnight. A city that says yes isn’t negotiated, it’s defended," said the current leader of the La Libertad Avanza Front’s list of council candidates in General Pueyrredon.
