Bolivia: Producers in Kuturipa receive potato seeds and advice
The agricultural sector of Kuturipa, located in District 9 of the city of Cochabamba, received a significant amount of potato seeds from the South Korean Cooperation in coordination with the municipality of Cercado.
The donation aims to strengthen agricultural production and improve crop yields.
The Secretary of Productive Development, Tourism and Culture, Enrique Mendieta, highlighted the importance of supporting the agricultural sector of the municipality.
“The work being done by all productive sectors of the municipality is important. Cochabamba has three districts with families dedicated to agriculture; on this occasion, we are delivering high-quality potato seeds,” he stated.
For his part, Tito Catón, head of the potato project in Cercado, reported that the seeds delivered are of high quality and will allow for an estimated production of 25 to 30 tons per hectare.
Finally, Nicolás Escalera, leader of Kuturipa Laguna Pampa, thanked the Mayor’s Office and international cooperation for their support, committing to apply the training received to ensure a good harvest.
“We appreciate this support for the agricultural sector in our area. We will follow all the technical recommendations to improve our production,” he said.
